Science is not just something for "eggheads", "nerds" or "geniuses". Everyone can and should understand what science is and how it works.
In brief, science is a a way of looking at the world, asking questions and trying to make sense of what we learn.
Even though we will never know all that there is to know, what we have learned so far has made us healthier, gave us longer and better lives and if we persist, things will improve even more.
Because of the importance of science and technology we all have an obligation to understand, at least in general terms, how things work and why.
